My Lady, Marion Waterdragon passed to the Moon Mother on 26 July 2010. I have been in mourning since and need to return to pagan society. I could also use some company in my Crafting Center which has lain dorment since The Lady departed. I can teach ceramic arts to anyone interested and give tips on merchanting wares produced. The drum circle and pavilion is still here for gatherings.
If you would allow me to enter your group please advise the next gathering.
Goddess Bless

Dia Duit..!!

I follow a 50-50 split set of ancestral honorings; Scots-Irish and Central American
I do this in order to honor my parents directly and their widely disparate ancestries.
My Totems have come from a variety of aspects and some are definitely from one land-mass rather than the other (Falcon as opposed to Jaguar for instance)

I have Kindreds from both "pantheons" if you will as well as my own guides.
The other missing piece is the Land spirits which are honoured but (in my case anyway) come from where I am at and not from my own past (or series of pasts).

When we are talking about Land Spirits I have always taken that to mean the spirits of the Land itself and if that is the case then they would not move at all for they are not "mine" or anyone else's.... and they would not have any reason to leave what they consider theirs which of course is the land they are guarding and occupying.

The Norse call them Landvaettir (Land Wights) and their accounts agree with this, Brownies and Groughies are similar creatures in that they are bound to a place. Jörmundur Ingi Hansen, former High Priest of the Ásatrúarfélagið, said that landvættir are tied to a spot in the landscape, to a huge rock, to a mountain, or to a specially beautiful place. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landv%C3%A6ttir

Domovoi's follow a particular family or "name" but must be coaxed and cajoled into doing so for there have been stories of losing one's Domovoi.

I personally would never want to make a "Land Spirit" to leave the land it is guarding as it would mean the loss of that special place and possibly the land itself nearby.

The Land Spirits are of the land itself and they have a "home" in that piece of land. They do not live in every tree and rock but chose to occupy one individually. They are sometimes communal but often solitary so they are more often found in ones and twos rather than whole colony's. If a particularly 'strong' (defined as 'presence') one occupies a big area the effect may be felt outside of the one tree for instance.

The idea that a Land Spirit might leave Ireland (as an example) and go to a celebration in South America would be a very odd thing indeed especially if the Land Spirit had no direct connection to anyone in that ritual. Personally I feel it is folly to believe that this happens and have always felt the presence of the Land where I am at rather than any presence following me from any of the places I have been.
